Passing through diverse landscapes from rainforest to alpine desert, climbers eventually join the Marangu route for the descent. Itinerary

After an early breakfast, transfer from your hotel to Marangu Gate for payment formalities before proceeding to Rongai Gate for registration. Begin the trek through lush forest and arrive at Simba Camp (First Cave, 2625m) for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, continue the ascent through moorland terrain, enjoying expansive views along the way. Reach Second Cave (3480m) for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, trek further upward with lunch en route, before arriving at Third Cave (3935m) for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, climb steadily across the alpine desert, stopping for lunch on the way. Arrive at School Hut (4715m), your base camp for the summit attempt. Dinner and overnight at camp.

At midnight, begin the final push to Uhuru Peak (5895m), the highest point in Africa. After enjoying the sunrise and photos at the summit, descend to Kibo Hut for a short rest and breakfast, then continue down to Horombo Hut (3720m) for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, descend through the rainforest to Marangu Gate for check-out and certificate collection. Meet your transfer vehicle for the return journey to Arusha, marking the end of your Rongai Route trek.
